Rice groats

Polished rice is rice grains from which flower films, fruit and seed coats, most of the aleurone layer and embryo have been completely removed. The surface of the kernel is slightly rough, white. There may be remnants of the seed coat on individual kernels. Polished rice is produced in five commodity grades: extra, superior, first, second, third.
